FEMININE ARCHETYPES MANAGERIALISM AND PERFORMANCE OF DEPOSIT MONEY BANKS IN RIVERS STATE

ABSTRACT

Organizational performance has been the most important goal as well as issue facing all organizations, scholars have argued that feminine archetypes managerialism have natural qualities to meet this goal better due to their unique achetypes, perspectives and experiences to organizational leadership, innovation, and overall organizational performance. It is on this premise that this research was carried out, to ascertain the link between feminine archetypes managerialism and organizational performance of deposit money banks in Rivers State. The study adopted efficiency and effectiveness as measures of organizational performance. The baseline theories that were used are the Social Role Theory and The biological theory. The cross-sectional survey design was used. The population of this research consisted of 66 regional managers of the deposit money banks in Rivers State, using the census method, the entire population was adopted as the sample size. A well-structured questionnaire was administered among the employees of the selected deposit money banks. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. Furthermore, the Spearman Ranking Order Correlation Coefficient was used to test the hypothesis, at a 5 percent level of significant, and the findings revealed that there is a moderate positive and significance relationship between feminine archetypes managerialism and efficiency of deposit money banks in Rivers State. Also, there is a strong positive and significant relationship between feminine archetypes managerialism and effectiveness of deposit money banks in Rivers State. Based on the findings, it was concluded that feminine archetypes managerialism have positive and significant relationship with organizational performance of deposit money banks in Rivers State. That the impact of feminine archetype managerialism in the banking industry positively increases the performance of the sector, and the combination of both feminist and masculine feminist leadership styles enhances organizational performance. From the conclusion, it was thus, recommended that management of Deposit Money Banks in Rivers State should adopt the feminine archetypes managerialism style to create workplace harmony, team work, employee support and welfare to enable employees to increase their commitment and thus, increase organizational performance.
